In Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, EIFL held the second meeting of librarian who are condictung PLIP program (Public Library Innovation Program), and which lasted from 27th November till 2nd December. The Public Library in Jagodina presented the results of the AgroLib Project which were achieved during the period of six months. At the meeting many innovative ideas were presented. For the AgroLib project of particular interest was the exchange of ideas and experiences with the representatives from the libraries in Chile and Kenya. These libraries are implementing projects like AgroLIb and have as a goal improvement of agriculture. The library in Chile uses text messages to pass information to agricultural producers in the fields, and the library in Kenya uses the services of the Ministry of Agriculture to create the content useful for farmers from different regions in Kenya. The participants of the meeting got constructive suggestions and instructions from the EIFL representatives referring to the promotion of projects, use of modern Internet technology, making video clips, sustainability of projects, long-term results of projects, etc.

To the satisfaction of the participants of the meeting, a period of time was dedicated to visitingThe National Park Nakuru. Safari, a word which means ‘traveling’ in Swahili, for most participants was a memorable and unique experience. Kenya is a beautiful country rich in wildlife that can be only seen in zoos.(like ours Zoo in Jagodina).

On the last day of the meeting with each of the participants a short interview was made. The video with interviews will be posted soon on this website.
